Hello all, I am very, very new to Linux and I apologise in advance for the (probably stupid) questions I am going to ask and for the fact that being so new to Linux, I have bitten off way more than I can chew.
To cut a long story short, I have a ClarkConnect (its based on Redhat) installation that I am trying to modify to use maildir mail boxes. Ive replaced Fetchmail with Getmail and the default UW-imap server with BincIMAP. However I am having no end of problems configuring bincIMAP. Ive edited the bincimap.conf to set the allow plain auth in non ssl to yes (Im having enough problems as it is without messing around with SSL!). So now I can telnet into it as per the FAQ. However, Im having no luck logging in to accounts and I suspect this is because the mailbox/folders section is not properly setup. ClarkConnect stores its mailboxes in: /var/spool/mail/ The trouble is, because of the aforementioned Linux ignorance, I really dont know if this is a standard or none standard place for mailboxes. Also, I really dont understand the instructions at bincimap-faq regarding How can I tell bincIMAP where my mailboxes/folders are? Any help regarding how bincimap.conf (or any other configuration file) should be setup to point to the right place would be greatly appreciated.
