Anything that points in the direction of reproducing the problem reliably. It's of course a good indicator that it happens after Pine has stood idle for a while, but if you for example can be contacted by the user before the mailbox is checked, then you can attach with strace, and then the user can reproduce the problem, then that would help very much.
