Sounds like you don't have checkpassword installed.
You can download it from here,
http://cr.yp.to/checkpwd.html

However, you may get an errno error. In which case, go here
http://mirror.hudecof.net/qmail/moni.csi.hu/pub/qmail/var-qmail/glibc-2.3.1/

and hunt down a patch. It's got what you need to patch the install file, so
that you can install checkpassword.

At least, that's what I did. Am I on the right path everyone?

Subject: [binc] checkpassword question

I am evaluating bincimap to start running our mail servers locally.

I installed it from source, as I didn't find a RedHat 8 binary RPM and
it went fine.

I can telnet to the server, but when I try to login (using: 1 login
username password) I always get "BYE The server dies unexpectedly..."
I checked the /etc/xinetd.d/imap file and it was pointing to
/bin/checkpassword which I don't have on my system. So I changed the
line to /etc/opt/bincimap/scripts/checkpassword.pl
I get the same error when trying to login so I checked the
checkpassword.pl file.

The first sub (sub authenticated) says "# This is the only function you need
to change"
However, it does not say what I should change it to. (if it
knew that it would have changed it for me, I suppose)
Is there anyone who has information about this or knows where I can
look for more information? It looks like the function is built to
always fail with error 111.

Thank You
