I followed the instructions on Life with BincIMAP to
the best of my knowledge.
Server reports operational and netstat reports that my
box is listening for IMAP/IMAPS connections.
At this time my user's directory structure is as
follows:
/home/username/Maildir/INBOX/ and within this folder
I've moved /cur, /new and /tmp.
I've made the changes on pop3d (run script) to point
to ./Maildir/INBOX, also my defaultdelivery file
points to ./Maildir/INBOX as well.
bincimap.conf is set to 'allow plain auth in non ssl'
to 'yes' and under Mailbox I have the following:
depot = "IMAPdir",
type = "Maildir",
path = "Maildir",
auto create inbox = "yes",
auto subscribe mailboxes = "INBOX",
umask = "077"
The two problems I have are:
1. It takes a real long time to get the first
connection to the server when using Evolution.
When I finally make the connection, if I hit the
Send/Receive button or if I try to create a folder
under INBOX the client becomes unresponsive, to the
point that I have to 'kill' Evolution.
2. I think I've lost the ability to receive messages
from other domains; I don't know where those messages
are being delivered to in my system.
I don't know if I've missed something as I've been at
it for a few hours now.
