Nothing in the protocol dump shows any mention of message sizes, subjects or senders. Also, the only fetches done in the two sessions where mutt selects INBOX (or actually, it fetches "INBOX" first, then "INBOX/" after) are for the UID and flags. And Binc's response is identical. Does seem like a mutt bug. Have you seen this behavior with other servers? I would try posting this to the mutt lists, and see what they can dig up.
