The problem you see is that Maildir++ does not allow '.' in a mailbox name, a restriction whose nature comes from Courier-IMAP, which uses '.' as a mailbox hierarchy delimiter. Binc IMAP can not introduce an escaping rule in a depot specification that it does not govern. Try using IMAPdir instead. It doesn't have this restriction.
