Oops, I thought you meant "mail exchange" in a generic sort of sense.  My

Yes, that's very true - it's not a solution for synchronization.  On the other 
hand this is a really good thing if you just want a backup, because if a user 
deletes mail inadvertently, there's still a copy on the other server.

Good luck in finding a solution - I imagine that you'll need a third-party 
program which is designed for this - something which uses IMAP to read 2 
servers, knows which one is the master, and keeps the contents in sync.
