The change I had my eye on was not ported to patched, so (a) it could have been
a more general R issue or (b) you got lucky. It would be great to get something
(easily) reproducible in 3.2.3.

Subject: Re: [Bioc-devel] bplapply Processes Sometimes Stall

Good day,

I was skeptical that using R Under Development would make a difference to this
problem, but I installed it, ran the cross-validation loop overnight, and it
completed successfully. It also works with R 3.2.3 Patched, but not R 3.2.3,
suggesting that a recent modification to R solves the problem. Now I need to
convince the server administrator (who relies on the availability of Debian
packages and apt-get) to install R from source on the servers!
