Dear Dr. Raghava, One basic problem I want to discuss here is: biological problems are often specific to particular organism. But most bioinformatics tools are generic. Suppose you are finding a motif in the gene seq of an Organism X and Organism Y, mostly you use the same tool (for example MEME), but every organism has different requirements for finding the motifs for that the biology of that organism has to studied in great detail, rules the motif in that Organism is following has to be ascertained and the same has to be mathematically addressed. I think this will lead to making a tool which has to very flexible to accomodate all this. Like there is the concept of personalized medicine we should have a generic tool which can be molded for specific problem. This can be the beginning.
