A Refresher Course on ‘Modern biotechnological techniques’ for graduate and postgraduate college/university teachers, will be held at Manipal Life Sciences Centre, Manipal University, Manipal for a period of two weeks from 10 to 22 January 2011.
The objective of this short-term Refresher Course is to give the participants a hands-on training on some modern biotechnological techniques and the theory behind them. A variety of teaching methods like lectures, discussion and laboratory work shall facilitate the learning process. The course will help the participants to gain and sharpen their skills on biotechnology. This training provides them necessary knowledge to boost their confidence in handling modern instruments used in the field of life sciences and modern biotechnology. The skills gained during this workshop will effectively fulfill their role as better researchers and teachers in teaching undergraduate/postgraduate students. The course will consist of a lecture everyday and over 6 hours of practical/demonstration/hands-on training.
