Sensitization Training Programme on ‘Bioinformatics and Computational
Biology in Microbiological Research’ 29 January–4 February 2011

Under

Establishment of National Agricultural Bioinformatics Grid (NABG) in
ICAR

Organized by

National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms (NBAIM)
(Indian Council of Agricultural Research) Kusmaur, Mau Nath Bhanjan
275 101, Uttar Pradesh

NBAIM invites applications from Indian research scientists working in
microbiological domain with NARS system/ universities/SAUs for the
Sensitization training programme on ‘Bioinformatics and Computational
Biology in Microbiological Research’ to be held from 29 January to 4
February 2011.

The objectives of the training programme are to provide insights to
scientists in analyzing and organizing data related to biological
complexity; to promote understanding of bioinformatics tools and
software employed for the data analysis; and to strengthen strategies
for integrating bioinformatics tools for data mining. It is aimed to
deliver insight on different tools and techniques in bioinformatics
related to microbiological research.

The programme is expected to improve the bioinformatics skill of
participants and to make them familiar with the modern practices in
computational biology, bio-statistics, database design, integration
and management, and implication of bioinformatics in genomic,
proteomic and metabolomic data analysis.
