Hi all; It's great to see the Biohaskell community wiki and mailing lists. Count me amongst the folks who are working to incorporate functional approaches more naturally in their code. I was inspired by digging through 'The Haskell Road to Logic, Maths and Programming' so have a soft spot in my heart for Haskell and have been experimenting with Clojure in my daily work.
I saw a few posts from last month about ISMB, and wanted to officially invite y'all to the Bioinformatics Open Source Conference and Codefest: http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/BOSC_2011 http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/Codefest_2011 Codefest is a 2 day hackathon session before the conference, and a great opportunity to meet people and work together on shared projects. Both it and BOSC are in the planning stages right now, so you are definitely welcome to get involved and propose functional programming sections or other topics of interest.
