Hello, my name is Sarah and I am participating in the current Google Summer of Code. I am working on a project mentored by Ketil Malde and Christian Höner zu Siederdissen which is about transitive alignments, a program written in Haskell. The main goal of the GSoC project is to improve the time and space consumption of the program.
The umbrella organization is the Open Bioinformatics Foundation. As a GSoC student I am asked to write a blog about what I am currently doing and planning for the next weeks such that others can see what is going on during the GSoC. As the GSoC officially started yesterday, here is my first blog post: http://biohaskell.org/GSoC_blog/First_Week This week I will do profiling statistics to see the time and space consumption of the program and to see which part of the program needs the most time/space. Have a nice week! Sarah
