Hi - The ProteinTools.getAlphabet() method returns an alphabet of size 21? Containing a symbol called SEC????
I am assuming that this is Selenocysteine but this generally isn't considerd to be part of the standard alphabet and caused a bit of a surprise when I saw it. Should there not be a specialized method to retreive this extended amino acid alphabet (similar to the one used to get the amino acid alphabet including the termination codons)? - Mark Mark Schreiber Bioinformatics AgResearch Invermay PO Box 50034 Mosgiel New Zealand PH: +64 3 489 9175 FAX: +64 3 489 3739 ======================================================================= Attention: The information contained in this message and/or attachments from AgResearch Limited is intended only for the persons or entities to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
