I went down to check for the Brewer's Blackbirds that I reported on the
Bruce-Saugeen Road yesterday and couldn't find them.

However, down by the tower overlooking the DU Pond in MacGregor Point
Provincial Park, were about 6 Rusty Blackbirds of both sexes. I also heard
the kish -lee call.

I also saw my first pair of Eastern Phoebes of the year. They were across
the road that borders the southern boundary of the park just by the no
parking sign in front of a maintenance entry. It will be interesting to see
if they are the pair that nests by the tower each year.

The Huron Shoreline makes a natural flyway for migrating birds and the 6th
Annual Huron Fringe Birding Festival takes advantage of this. For more
information on the festival, check the Friends of MacGregor Provincial Park
