Thought I'd add my two cents worth of observations at Point Pelee for 4-15-03! All of these birds were observed between the tip and DeLaurier (06:30 - 14:00):

Yellow-rumped Warbler 25 (several singing)
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 20 (most singing)
Golden-crowned Kinglet 60
Brown Creeper 30
Winter Wren 3 (1 singing)
Tree Swallow 3
Eastern Phoebe 6
Field Sparrow 7
Savannah Sparrow 2
Chipping Sparrow 32
White-throated Sparrow 30
Dark-eyed Junco 20
Fox Sparrow 1
Song Sparrow 6
Hermit Thrush 8
Brown Thrasher 4 (all singing)
Rusty Blackbird 2
Horned Grebe 1 (transitional plumage)
Common Loon 1 (Bird was very dark.)
Surf Scoter 300 (A very conservative count!)
Hooded Merganser 2
Redhead 10
Bufflehead 5

Hundreds of Red-breasted Mergansers and thousands of scaup were off the tip early. Also, there was a reverse migration of blackbirds (mostly grackles, cowbirds, and redwings) off the tip early in the morning, involving dozens of groups of 15-60, and several small flocks of robins. Sadly, no Carolina Wren was heard.

Blessings,
Michael Carlson
