Gillian Horgan and I were able to locate the Ruff at Embrun Sewage
Lagoons. We found the bird after over an hour's search at 11:55 a.m. It
is a spectacular bird in very intense rust/orange plumage. We first
located the bird not on a lagoon shore but in the flooded area just west of
the southwestern lagoon. We were standing on the southern embankment at
the time. It was with a number of Wilson's Phalaropes and Lesser
Yellowlegs. The bird flew to the south shore of the southwestern lagoon
where we saw it very well in our scope. After about a quarter of an hour,
it flew to the northern shore of the northwestern lagoon. I
