The Hamilton Community Peregrine Project, managed by the Hamilton
Naturalists' Club, is pleased to announce the arrival on Mother's Day of a
young Peregrine Falcon chick in the nest on ledge atop the window
structure of the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel. A second chick may have been
born yesterday. The nest has been occupied annually since 1995, with 21
chicks (18 natural, 3 foster) fledged successfully.

Live webcam pictures can be found at:

www.hamiltonnature.org/hamfalcam.html

Live TV pictures can be viewed on a monitor in the Jayset store on the
King St. side of the Jackson Square Shopping Centre.

The chicks will be most active and visible from the street around the
first week of June as they learn to fly and then fledge. At that time HCPP
carries out a dawn to dusk volunteer monitoring prgoram in case any of the
chicks gets into trouble. Anyone interested in volunteering for this
worthwhile project can contact me at the address above/below.

Directions: The Sheraton Hamilton Hotel and Jackson Square Shopping
Centre are located on King Street West at the corner of Bay Street in
Hamilton. Take Hwy 403 to the Main St. East exit, follow Main St. downtown
to Bay St., turn left one block to King. There are many parking lots in
the area.
