After a several-day respite at Pelee I am back at my familiar Thickson's
haunt, not enjoying the difficult-to-verify clouded-over sky backdrop. With
the help of pairs of eyes better than my own the following were discerned in
Thickson's during the AM of Tuesday, May 13(I revert to horizontal listing
for this one): many C.Loons on the lake, Brown Thrasher, Bank Swallow,
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, HERMIT THRUSH, Catbird, Warbling Vireo, Least
Flycatcher, Veery , INDIGO BUNTING,
2 SCARLET TANAGERS, 3 ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS, Baltimore Oriole, R-t
Hummingbird, and the following warblers: CAPE MAY-1, N.PARULA-1,
BLACK-&-WHITE-3, CHESTNUT-SIDED-4, PALM-3, NASHVILLE-2, YELLOW-RUMPED-40,
YELLOW-5, C.YELLOWTHROAT-2, BLACK-THROATED BLUE-7, OVENBIRD-2,
BLACK-THROATED GREEN-1, MAGNOLIA-3, BLACKBURNIAN-1.

Cranberry Marsh is "water-laden" and vegetation is growing rapidly. In the
water immediately in front of the north platform were the following:
Blue-winged Teal--10+, N.Shoveler-8, Coot-2 visible, Black-3,
Mallard-several, Gadwall-5.

Thickson's Woods is at the foot of Thickson Rd. in southeast Whitby,
accessed form the 401 at Thickson.
Cranberry Marsh is along Hall's Rd., it being 1 block east of Lakeridge,
south off Victoria, in southwest Whitby.
