Good morning birders,

Bird activity in the Park this morning was similar to yesterday, that is,
not very many birds, but good diversity. The east winds prevented many
new birds from arriving in the Park. In addition, lght early morning rain
kept most activity down low. However, now that things are clearing up and
the sun is poking out, birds are venturing higher up in the trees.
Noteworthy observation reported to us include the following:

Neslon's Sharp-tailed Sparrow - (1) - Solar Panel display
Worm-eating Warbler - (1) - once agian from the same area in Tilden's
Woods
Connecticut Warbler - (2) - Post Woods and Woodland Nature Trail (W.N.T.)
(first reports of the spring)
Hooded Warbler - (1 female & 1 male) - W.N.T & Post Woods respectively
Northern Parula - (2) - Tip area & W.N.T.
Brown Creeper - (1) - Tip area (late)
Surf Scoter - (1 male ) - Tip
Sandhill Crane - (3) - over the Visitor Centre
Yellow-breasted Chat - (1) - west beach south of Visitor Centre

More CANADA WARBLERS, BAY-BREASTED WARBLERS, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, TENNESSEE
WARBLERS and AMERICAN REDSTARTS are also being reported each day,
indicative of the fact we are heading into the second half of May and
migration in general.
