Good morning,

Although I would like to take credit for finding the KIRTLAN'S WARBLER
last night, I (Karl Konze) was NOT the person who found the bird. I saw
it for about ten minutes before it settled in and disappeared. The person
or people who originally found the bird have not yet been identified.

If the bird is refound this morning, we will post an update.

The bird was last seen at approx. 8:25 pm (May 17) when it settled into
some vegetation along the beach. The bird was last viewed approx 420
paces (480 paces for shorter folks ;) north of the north beach access at
Sanctuary. There is a stick with a black cap on it on the beach marking
the location. Parking at the Sanctuary picnic area is very limited. You
may have to park a little further south at Northwest Beach if it is being
viewed.

Good birding,

Karl Konze
