Hi Everyone, We just came home from Pinary. During the weekend we saw/heard 82 birds. Highlights:
Riverside Trail Scarlet Tanager, Eastern Bluebird M/F, Pileated Woodpecker, Red Bellied Woodpecker, Great Crested Flycatcher, Eastern Towhee, Yellow Throated Vireo, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher nesting right along the boardwalk, Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Belted Kingfisher. Also, Northern Flicker nesting/feeding right along the boardwalk. Wilderness Trail Pine Warbler, Ovenbird, Yellow Throated Vireo, Great Crested Flycatcher. Nippising Trail Chestnut-sided Warbler, Eastern Bluebird M/F, Eastern Towhee M/F Scarlet Tanager M/F, Indigo Bunting, Ovenbird. Grand Bend Sewage Lagoon Six families of Wood Ducks, Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, Least and Spotted Sandpipers American Pipit Six species of Waterfowl.
