Black Vulture at Point Pelee: Location! Location!
After being away for three weeks, it was exciting to encounter a Black Vulture circling over the Tip today at about 12:45 p.m. The bird had missing and newly grown feathers, so it was not a juvenile. At the time there was a brisk north wind; in the past other individual Black Vultures have also occurred at Point Pelee on days with north winds (irregardless of season). The only other hawk seen was an adult Red-tailed Hawk.
