The remainder of the day was a mix of sun and cloud with winds out of the west increasing in the afternoon, becoming gusty late in the day. Observations: After the rain and storms of the overnight, a much better flight was anticipated, but it was not to be. Birds for the most part were scattered over a wide front and trickled by in ones and twos throughout the day. A mid day push of Turkey Vultures were the only birds to be seen following a definite flight line, crossing high above the Edison plant before angling off towards the southwest. This group did not seem to attract any Broad-wings, most unusual for a mid September hawk flight. Despite the low hawk flight, other birds were on the move including large groups of swallows, good numbers of warblers and Chimney Swifts. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
