Today a Wilson's Storm Petrel was observed from Woodlawn Beach State Park and Hoover Beach in Hamburg, NY, south of Buffalo from 9:30 to 12:00. At times it was less than 100 yards from the observers at Woodlawn flying low just over the wave crests. This probably is the same bird seen yesterday by Kurt Fox. For a while at about 9:30 it was close to the source of the Niagara River and may have been visible from Fort Erie, Canada.
