OFNC BIRD STATUS LINE TUEDSAY SEPTEMBER 23 AT 2:30 PM
This is a rare bird alert.
A light morph PARASITIC JAEGER was seen at Shirley's Bay dyke this
morning around 9:55 am, flying west. To access the dyke call
Range Control at 991-5740.
Yesterday the 22nd, there were also two HUDSONIAN GODWITS west of
the dyke at Shirley's Bay.
Neither the FORSTER'S TERN at Shirley's Bay nor the AMERICAN
AVOCET at the Chesterville lagoons has been seen since the 20th
despite intensive searching.
A note regarding the Chesterville lagoons. The northern cells are
on private property and are under camera surveillance. Do not
enter the lagoons from this end, as there are security concerns.
The southern cells are on municipal property and may be entered
from Water St in Chesterville but please do not cross the fence
into the northern cells.
This message will be updated with more bird reports later in the
week.
Thank-you. Good birding.
