Hello Ontbirders!

Mark Cranford has authorized me to make a request on behalf of the Ontario Bird
Records Committee.

Hurricane Isabel resulted in the occurrence of several extremely rare birds in
the province, including Wilson's Storm-petrel, Least Tern, Black-capped Petrel,
and Sooty Tern, among others. The Ontario Bird Records Committee would like to
ensure that this storm-related incursion of birds is well documented.
Therefore, I would like to ask that anyone who has not yet submitted
documentation of rare birds that they saw during that period please do so at
your earliest convenience. We have received some reports, but we are sure there
are more observers out there who may have taken notes, photographs, or sketches
of these birds, so we would really appreciate receiving copies of that
documentation.

You can use the on-line Rare Bird Report Form on the OFO website (www.ofo.ca),
or you can send written reports, photos, etc. to me at my home address, below.
Thanks in advance for your help in documenting rare bird occurrences in Ontario.

By the way, we would welcome any other rare bird reports from Ontario that you
might have, even if they are not storm-related!

Sincerely,

Bill Crins
Secretary, Ontario Bird Records Committee
