The northwesterlies were howling and there was intermittent raining, BUT several keen birders and a triumvirate of hawkers stood bravely on the CMRW platform -- every 10-15 minutes 20 sparrows came in to feed on the pathway very nearby; always a few seconds later our DICKCISSEL (WHICH ARRIVED ON OCT.14), would join the assemblage of White-throated, White-crowned, Song and Chipping (there may have been a Field also) Sparrows. We believe it is an immature male. The wind, I assume, wqas too great for raptors to buck--as a result the only migrants were 1 Merlin, 3 TVs, 2 Sharpies, 2 Harriers and 3 Kestrels.
