Birded the #60 section of Algonquin Park yesterday and this morning (pouring rain !) and saw the following:
                 Trail off Arrowhon Rd. to Wolf Howl Pond: Migrating flocks included Fox, Swamp, White-thr. & White-crowned sparrows, Hermit Thrush, both Kinglets, Brown Creeper, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Rusty & Red-winged blackbirds, Winter Wren, American Pipit, Juncos, Goldfinch, several Ring-necked & Black ducks, & Hooded Mergansers. Residents included Gray Jays, Boreal Chickadee, Hairy & Pileated woodpeckers, RB Nuthatch.  Also seen : 2 dragonfly sp. , Moose, Otter, E. Chipmunks, Red Squirrels.
                 Old airfield at Lake of Two Rivers (access from Mew Lake) :  40 Horned Larks with 2 Lapland Longspurs, Crows, Ravens, Great Blue Heron, Ruffed Grouse.
                  Juvenile female Spruce Grouse walked across my path today at Spruce Bog - many fine fungi there !
                Grackles, Chipping Sparrow, etc., at Visitor Centre feeders today.
                Other birds : C Loon, C Merganser, RB & Herring gulls, Robin, Blue Jay, Song Sparrow.
Directions:  Take Highway #60 east  of Huntsville off #11 into the park. Check signs for all of the above.
