Found an immature Green Heron foraging in Little River early this afternoon
right at the VIA Rail trestle. If I'm not mistaken, this species should be
long gone by now. I don't think I've ever seen one in October before.
The Little River site is located in east Windsor and can be accessed from
Little River Road east of Lauzon; from Riverside Drive East just west of
Lakeview Park Marina; or from Tecumseh Road East by walking north up Penang.
As a postscript, there are hundreds of American Robins about today and a
good variety of sparrows in appropriate habitat.
