Observations: The count began at the boat launch with part of the count team spending the entire day at this site and the remaining crew switching to Point Mouillee. From mid-morning through to the end of the day both locations were monitored. Finally today there was the long awaited big push of larger Buteos along with Golden Eagles. The sky at times was literally filled with groups of Red-tails, often numbering 20 to 30 birds each. Included in this flight were two dark morph individuals. Several times during the day multiple Golden Eagles and Rough-legs were in the air together making for spectacular viewing. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
