>Subject: Pacific Loon at Sarnia

Sorry for the late posting, but I was away yesterday. This is forwarded
from Mich-listers as a "heads-up" for points along Lake Erie.

Good Afternoon,
I spent the morning (10/27) birding in Port Huron at Lighthouse park.
Migration was good with lots of Loons and Ducks flying by. Around 10:30- 11
A.m. I noticed a basic plumaged PACIFIC LOON just off the shoreline. The
bird was near 3 basic plumaged Common Loons and clearly smaller then the
Commons with a small, thin bill, a clean even demarcation line down the
neck with a chinstrap present. I watched for about 30 minutes before the
rain got the better of me.
Also of note was a female HARLEQUIN DUCK and 2 RED-THROATED LOONS.
Some other good birds were
WHITE-WING SCOTER -7
SURF SCOTER -25
BLACK SCOTER -1
COMMON LOON -104
DUNLIN -16
SNOW BUNTING - 14
LAPLAND LONGSPUR -1

Lighthouse Park is a few blocks north of the Blue water Bridge on Omar Street.
Good birding
   ~Skye Haas
