Hi All, I just returned from fishing the St. Mary's River rapids and caught no fish. However, while there I was able to observe 2 female or immature Harlequin Ducks feeding in the shallows on chinook eggs.
To get there drive to Sault Ste. Marie, ON, and follow the signage to the U.S. border crossing. Do not go across, but turn south at the Ontario Information Centre and take Canal Drive south. Park at the Sault Canal Visitor's Centre parking lot and walk across the canal following the pathways and boardwalk to the rapids below the International Bridge. The Harlequins will be difficult to see amoungst all of the rocks but they do have a habit of moving around. Bob Knudsen Sault Ste.
