Observations: With such light winds the flight was spread out with many birds crossing to the north of Point Mouillee where the watch was initially undertaken. Many of the birds though were overhead including much of the massive Red-tail movement. This included a very impressive 1,131 Red-tails in the 11-12 hour alone. For the second day in a row a dark-morph individual was seen. This large movement also included peak seasonal totals of Golden Eagles and Rough-legs, with tallies of 28 and 19 recorded respectively. With the switch in wind direction in the afternoon, the remaining few hours of the day were spent at the boat launch with the flight then pushed well to the north. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/ The primary site used by Southeastern Michigan Raptor Research (SMRR) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
