The Least Sandpiper was seen by Tony Bigg, Bob Prentice and myself this morning where it was report
Directions for Least Sandpiper: "Take highway 3 west of Cayuga, turn north (right) on Decewsville Road. Proceed through the small town to a cattail wetland. A stream crosses under the road at two locations and flows into a reservoir." I'll add- Just before (south of ) Taquanyah CA there is a well trodden path (but soggy ,waterproof boots suggested) path immediately (10 feet) to the north of the creek. Follow this path till you are opposite the Osprey platform just before the reservoir. There are parts of the path that sort of disappear because of the high water levels but keep heading for the Osprey platform. The sandpiper was on the north side of the very, very small island in the creek IMMEDIATELY across from the platform. Thanks, John Miles, for showing me the trail on the OFO outings in the area. It made finding the sandpiper easy. Anne Anthony Peterborough, ON "Anne Anthony" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Visit http://www.ofo.ca/ontbirdsguide.htm for information on leaving and joining the list.
