The Mew Gull was NOT reported today. The CALIFORNIA GULL at Adam Beck was
not seen today but we did have an adult on the breakwall below the control
gates (above the falls), found by Jean Iron. It is possible that we had two
birds on the breakwall but we lost sight of one behind the densely packed
Herring Gulls and could not relocate it to study it further. The bird we
were able to study was on the end of the wall near the control gates. This
bird has noticeable red on the bill unlike the bird seen most of the late
fall at Adam Beck. There was a first-winter GLAUCOUS GULL seen opposite the
north overlook at Adam Beck. There were no Purple Sandpipers reported. An
adult BALD EAGLE was at the control gates frightening the many thousands of
gulls there. I don't think the Black-headed Gull was seen today.

Good birding!
