Hi there,
Although we didn't get a Band-tailed Pigeon, we did get lots of interesting
species...so far 72 species, down a bit from usual, but not all parties or
feeders have made contact with me.
Temp was hovering just below zero, some northerly winds, mostly overcast and
some am snow.
Owing to snow cover, some 10-15 cm, and light snow falling in the morning,
birds were hunkered down in difficult to find locations. Some people
reported good numbers of birds at their feeders. The peekaboo sun in the pm
got some birds more active and out to the roadsides and feeders. With ponds,
and lakes previously frozen, a week or so ago, we lost our lingering
waterfowl (driven out), but some species were found in the Thames and on the
few open bits of ponds.
As I said, I haven't got all parties reported yet, but these are the
highlights so far.

Best Birds

Double-crested Cormorant-1

Sparrow, Chickadee and Red-breasted Nuthatch have higher numbers than usual
so far.

Lows...
No totals yet, but Kestrels and Blue Jays, and Crows were low in numbers,
and N. Harrier was absent from those reported, and of course lows in winter
finches.

More details later if other things of interest show up.
