The Atikokan Xmas Count was held Dec. 15 with temps right on the freezing mark. 28 species found, 1,196 individuals. Highlights included Swamp Sparrow, Lincoln's Sparrow and Red-Bellied Woodpecker, all new for count. Black-Billed Magpie and Three-Toed Woodpecker also of interest.
