As an falconer who has been flying falcons in Ontario for over 20 years, I have been watching the Prairie Falcon posts with interest. I can tell you that depending on what kind of jesses are used it is possible for the bird to quickly remove the strap and leave only a small leather anklet that would be difficult to see. However, very very few Prairie Falcons are used these days. In fact I don't know of anybody flying one for several years. This is most likely a wild bird.
