Hi all, Late this afternoon I saw 2 Snowy Owls within 10 minutes of each other near Casselman. Both were heavily marked with dark flecks.
DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 417 east of Casselman take exit 58 and proceed north on Cty Rd 8 for about 1 km until you come to Concession 20 in the middle of the long curve. Turn right on Concession 20 and go 0.5 km. One owl was observed on the TV antenna of house 2284. To find the other owl go back to Cty Rd 8 and proceed westward for about 1.5 km. This owl was perched on the antenna of house 1800. The chances are unlikely that the owls will be exactly at these same spots so you may need to drive the back roads to find them. Two flocks of Gray Partridge and 3 different Short-eared Owls have recently been seen on or near Concession 20 also.
