(One of the locals.) Weather: It was a beautiful day today with weather reaching a high of +3C. Observations: Only one Red-tail could be seen transversing the park today, however a pair of local red-tails kept popping up over the quarry as they performed their annual rites of spring. On arriving this morning the resident cardinals were busy calling to each other across the park. The bright male perched high in a tree near the park entrance and the female coyly hid in the feeder bushes. The site is 1km south of the south shore of Lake Ontario, 20km east of Hamilton, 40km west of Niagara Falls. To get to Beamer CA, take the QEW to Exit 72, follow Christie St./Mountain St. to the top of the escarpment, turn right on Ridge Road West, and go 1.6km to Quarry Rd. Turn right on Quarry Rd. and drive 100m to the conservation area. Parking is normally available inside the park. If parking at the entrance or on the roads, do NOT leave valuables in your car.
