Hi All Well, working late last night paid off - I had my first Am. Woodcocks of the year around 7 pm at the Park administration building. The area surrounding the building and maintenance compound were fairly recently planted with trees and the grassy undergrowth attracts woodcocks each year. There were at least three individuals calling from various locations around the site. Spring is definitely in the air! I have had Tundra Swans most days this week and was lucky enough to see some lingering Common Redpolls at my Aunt and Uncles feeders in Chatham on the weekend. Large numbers of blackbirds can be heard all over the park and the resident Great Horned and Screech owls have been actively calling and put on a great show at our owl prowl this past weekend. Point Pelee National Park is located approx. 5 km south of the Town of Leamington on County Rd 34 (Point Pelee Drive). Point Pelee's administration building is located at 407 Monarch Lane, off Bevel Line, across from the Pelee Days Inn. Good Birding!
