The Band-tailed pigeon which was found in London on 2003-11-27 and wintered here has left. It was last seen in London on Saturday, April 10, 2004.
There is no evidence of it being a reluctant guest at an Accipiter lunch so we are assuming that the migrating urge struck. It may have headed north from here. So if you see an unusually large Rock Pigeon this year, please take a closer look. This pigeon prefers platform feeders and may be attracted to them. Good birding! Hugh Casbourn
