While not rare outside of Toronto, there were 2 Ruddy Ducks at Humber Bay East this afternoon just outside the small lagoon area south of the parking lot. Also present were Common Goldeneye, Northern Shoveler, American Wigeon, Scaup, and the other usual suspects in the water.

One Savannah Sparrow was in the brush nearby. There was at least one Northern Rough-winged Swallow amongst the Tree and Barn Swallows flying over the artificial ponds south of the washrooms.

Directions:

Humber Bay East is found at the foot of Parklawn Avenue. Take the Lakeshore Blvd. to Parklawn and drive south into the park. Take the first turn to the right that drives into the park and follow it to the parking lot. From there walk over the small knoll south of the parking lot until you can see the small constructed lagoon. The Ruddy Duck and other waterfowl were found there along with the Savannah Sparrow. A little to the west are the artificial ponds with the swallows.
