Total observation time: 9.5 hours

Observers: Fred Kirn, Terry Angevine, Tim Smart

Visitors:

Weather:
After partial clearing in the early morning hours, the remainder of the day
was a mix of sun and cloud. Winds were light to moderate north-northwest
increasing to fairly strong and gusty by midday and then lessening in the
mid afternoon after a switch more to the east-northeast.

Observations:
Conditions really were ideal for hawk watching what with the wind direction
and partial cloud cover. Highlights of the flight included the first
Golden Eagle of the season, a sub adult, along with the best movement of
Red-tails and Turkey Vultures so far this fall.

A single Sandhill Crane was noted flying due south in mid morning.
