Winds were generally light out of the west becoming moderate southeast near the end of the count day. Observations: The flight was perhaps surprisingly steady throughout with Sharp-shins dominating the early part of the count. The larger birds became more numerous with the thinning of the cloud layer and the warming air temperature as the day wore on. Once again highlighting the day was a Northern Goshawk, this time an adult, a plumage not often seen at this site. It seems the fall season is off to a fine start with regards to this species. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Calvin Brennan ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.smrr.net/
