There were two Nelson's Sharp-tailed Sparrows at the Powassan Sewage Lagoon today. They were in the tall grass along the western dike of the northern most lagoon. This lagoon has been drained for over two months and now is filled with vegetation. The recent rains have resulted in it starting to fill again, but the plant growth is well above the water.

Directions: Powassan is on Highway !1 about 15 minutes south of North Bay. The Lagoons are on the west side of Highway #11 (access from the south bound lanes) just north of the Clark Street interschange at Powassan. Go under the gate and follow the road to the north lagoon.
