The Black-necked Stilt was still present between 3-3:30 at the Ridgetown Lagoons. However at 3:30 the bird was flushed from the irrigation pipes by a raptor and flew to the North side of the sewage pond and out of view.
It will likely return to the irrigation pipes when the coast is clear. I have posted photos of the Stilt on my new web site www.stevepike.com on the rarities page, please click on the blue RARITIES link on my home page. ENJOY, Steve Pike. Directions to Ridgetown, from Irene Woods' email: Ridgetown is a few miles N/E of Rondeau P.P. At the only traffic light, turn North on Erie St.----go about 10 short blocks---just before the Railroad tracks and the large Fertilizer plant turn left on Mitton Line. The lagoons are just a bit down the road-----you will see the viewing stand. YOU CAN NOT ENTER these lagoons. Viewing is good from the stand. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
