Hi All!

In addition to the nice birds that I saw (or didn't see as the case may be)
on my journey to Sarnia yesterday, I found an 1st year, intermediate phase
Red-tailed Hawk on my way home. The bird was sighted along Modeland Road -
between Confederation Street and Plank Road on the east side, across from
GLIS. It was sitting in a tree along a hedgerow.

Back in the park - the Eastern Screech Owl has returned to its roosting
hole along the main road again this winter. I've seen it most days this
week. The bird is located just south of the old Camp Henry entrance
(approx 500 m north of Dunes picnic area on the east side of the road).
The old driveway to the camp is still present and south of it you will see
a telephone pole and a two trunked cedar tree. The next large tree south
of these is a hackberry tree, set in off the road about 2 metres. The hole
is located up about three metres. We ask that you don't park on the road
to view - if you want a closer look you can park at Dunes and walk back
north along the road or the bike trail.

The Visitor Centre feeder is up and active. We've had a Fox Sparrow in
this week as well as a Least Flycatcher around the pond. The Visitor
Centre is open on weekends throughout the winter from 10 am - 5 pm and is a
great place to warm up and watch the feeder. If you are in the park during
hours when the VC is not open, there are sightings sheets posted in the
front foyer - record your sightings if you wish.

Good birding everyone!
Sarah
