The Black-necked Stilt was still present today (Friday, November 12) at the sewage lagoons just north of Ridgetown. I observed it between 4:20 and 4:45 p.m. At times it disappeared for a few minutes, but eventually returned to feed in the open lagoon immediately in front of the viewing stand or along the edge to the right.

A Hudsonian Godwit was also present as was an assortment of waterfowl typical for the time and the place (Ruddy Duck, Northern Shoveller, Green-winged Teal, Mallard, Bufflehead etc.).

Directions: Ridgetown is about 30 minutes east of Chatham. From Highway 401, exit at County Road 21 (exit 109) and head south to Ridgetown. From the main corner in downtown Ridgetown (intersection of Erie Street and Main Street) follow Erie Street north for ~1.5 km to the intersection of Erie Street and Mitton Line/Palmer Street. Turn left onto Mitton Line/Palmer Street and just past the fertilizer plant which is on the north side of the street, you will see the sewage lagoons on the south side of the street. Do not go beyond the fence. The stilt is visible from the viewing stand.
